A New Creed

We are not alone, we live in God¡¯s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating,

who has come in Jesus the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit.

We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God¡¯s presence, to live with respect in Creation,

to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.

Called to Be Peace Makers

Multi-cultural and Interfaith Service for Peace in Great Toronto Area on January 19th, 2003

We live in God's world. We are called to be peace makers.

When God created in the beginning, after finishing each task of making things with diversity and with beauty, God said, "It is good." God made the world a wonderful world and made us humankind with God's image. We trust in God who created and is creating with beauty and with peace. And all of us, without exception, have God's image. God blessed us to live in harmony. In this God's world, we are not alone. As peace makers we live with respect in creation to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, and to live as one body. We are called to live in harmony in this God's wonderful world.

But in this wonderful world, there are hatreds and fightings: nation against nation, people against people, and killing each other. Having hatred against others means having hatred against someone with God's image. Killing others means not just destroying the body and soul of others, but destroying God's image in themselves. We are all connected to each other and to all God's creation. This is why we all the peace lovers and peace makers gather together regardless of religion. We are part of One Body of God.

In our journey for peace to live as peace makers, we will know that God is with us. God is with us in life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. In this our journey we will discover God's beauty in each one of us, and we will say to each other, "You are beautiful!" It is God's blessing for us and God's wonderful world. Thanks be to God!
