Young people's vacuum within the United Church is the chronic problem of more than two decades. 

 By launching the Emerging Spirit program which is focusing on young people, Church is trying to seek the answer of the problem from hiring the reseach institue with spending millions of dollars. (It is a typical example of old way problem solving. Church will end up with getting the answers we already have known from long time ago. It is not wise way of spending M&S fund.)

 Another seeming strategy of the Church is amalgamation. There is not much option, however the way or its process should get out of old fashioned ways that repeatedly failed. (One of typical failures is that the amalgamation of two half time pastoral charges become half time charge after a year.)
